Newsletter #67 Sat 26th June 2021

Editor - Derek Godridge and guest author Wendy Bate PCC News of the Week:

  1. This week Kevin Leah, our mystery guest, gave us a very interesting talk.

  2. On Thursday I went to an RPS Event in Exeter at Poltimore House and took some shots of the dilapidated interior and after being inspired by Kevin’s talk I did some work on one (the edit is the one on the right- Haha !). Poltimore is a bit like Enys House but in a worse state - By the way Enys is open this weekend for a Summer Craft Fair so it’s bound to rain !

Meetings

  1. I think we all could take something away from Kevin’s Thursday’s talk which covered so many subjects such as Composites, Textures, Layers, Sky replacementetc etc. Once again he demonstrated his amazing command of Photoshop to produce creative images from within his own imagination. A truly superb talk, I just need to photograph some flour now!

  2. Next week is a “Meet–Up” at The Great Flat Lode car park on THURSDAY 1st JULY at 7 pm, near Piece so bring your tripods and cameras of course.

CARMINOWE, AFTERNOON,June 2014.

This was a lovely private garden, which the owners opened to the public for a Charity event. It was a beautiful day and as usual, plenty of flowers there, which I love.

We finished with a Cream Tea, which they arranged especially for us.

PORTHLEVEN, evening

The same day, we went on to PORTHLEVEN, evening, where we had an evening meal in the Harbour Inn, and some had Fish and chips, followed by Ice Creams, with the SEAGULLS !!!, before taking our cameras out and about to try and get some good images.

On these sort of field trips, the more experienced photographers are always happy to help any members who need it.

FALMOUTH FIRE STATION, EVENING, May 2014.

This was on a Thursday evening, when the Retained Fire Crew had their Training night. The Members made a donation to the Fire Brigades Benevolent Fund, a thank you for the evening . We hope to make another visit there very soon, if the restrictions are lifted.

The “get together’s” are always great fun and we all like being together with our cameras. When the Club has a Summer Break, these events are always arranged during those breaks, so we can all meet up occasionally.

Best regards Derek and Wendy
