Modelling first- week ending 13th October

The firsts just keep coming at Penryn Camera Club! Last week members had their first model evening of the new season – and we were delighted that our new members were all available to be there with us. The club’s “battle” secretary – Victor Tulin lead the evening. As well as being responsible for managing our photographic competitions with other clubs Victor enjoys portraiture photography. He brought along 3 studio lights and a backdrop and Lydia who modelled for the evening. He showed how to use the lights and backdrop in a studio type set up and explained in detail how to communicate to the model the sort of poses that he wanted. Some of our other members, who had also brought in their cameras were then able to try their hand at studio portraiture. We have to give a very special mention to Lydia. Not only did she model for members but she did so with so much patience.. Photographers don’t like to rush when they are trying to get that perfect portrait! Many thanks Lydia! This week another of our members, Dr Keith Russ, is giving a talk with photos on his very recent trip across the USA. www.penryncameraclub.org.uk.
