Last week Penryn Camera Club adventured into the deepest Helston countryside to find the Helston railway. Knowledgeable and photo-friendly staff and rolling stock made the day enjoyable. The weather held for a steam train to take us sedately from Prospidnick Halt to Truthall Halt and back. Cream teas (or other lunchtime treats) from the cafe rounded off a pleasant and productive visit.
This week some of the images taken appeared in our internal friendly critique session. Members submit images for general comment in a friendly environment. Comments highlighting things unseen can surprise photographers of all abilities. Suggestions for improvement often include cropping and cloning but we also spotted a colour cast and poor use of a graduated filter. This is a popular evening we are sure to repeat.
In the next couple of weeks, our busy program secretary, Karen, has another two external visits planned (both involving cream teas, can you see a theme?!!). Fingers crossed for good weather so we can find some new photographs for future competitions.
