Friday 20th November
Competition; 1st Open
Oh my Goodness! The Chairman took the breaks off and allowed an open competition. Full editing, no restrictions, no set subject - and BOY did the club members respond. In spades. I’ve talked about genres in photography before, but never seen them all covered in one competition. Landscape, Seascape, Vibrant colour, full B&W, Macro, Animals, Portraiture - judging hell, but stunning imagery.
17 entries this week set the bar incredibly high, and I had a really hard job to pick one from, in my opinion, the top 14. If you don’t often follow links I strongly recommend you make an exception in this case and go to our Facebook page to see the set Facebook.com/PenrynCC/.
This week’s virtual meeting covered some excellent underground photography by Keith during a mine survey in Spain, and Liz completed the evening with a show-and-tell of her photographic life.
Lockdown has not dented the capabilities of the Penryn Camera club. This was our eleventh virtual competition and the standard is improving each week. We still have spaces if you would like to join in via https://www.penryncameraclub.org.uk/contact-us
This week’s winner was Stourhead Autumn by Derek. Next week’s competition category is out-of-camera “Movement”.
