Penryn Camera club; Still standing!

What a year! Covid came along so we had to learn the mystic arts of video conferencing and web transfers. Formal competitions were abandoned last year, we instead enjoyed weekly fun competitions with ‘the wheel of misfortune”. The Rugby club hiked our rent beyond our reach, so we moved to Penryn Football club. Good parking, an ideal room for our large screen and a really helpful host. A few members left, but more joined and the club has flourished.

New members bring new ideas, new places to visit and new things to explore. Meetings and visits are well attended and the social side of the club is dynamic.

Tonight we enjoyed the penultimate milestone of this season; the “Image of the Year” competition. One skilled photographer has ONE image selected from all competitions and all categories - Ninety-three entries this year! - by Brian Galbraith as the club’s best image of the year. That photographer was Morning Glow by Liz Richardson. That image will be the front piece of our gallery for the next 12 months. Well done Liz.

We are now approaching our summer break where weekly meetings pause to allow us to go out and take more photos for the 2022/23 season. If you live in, or near Penryn please take pictures wherever you go, and do consider joining us.
