First meeting of new year

Last Thursday’s meeting of the Penryn Camera Club saw members reviewing

images from the Western Counties Photographic Federation’s travelling image show.

Poor weather and some illness within the membership meant that there were,

unfortunately, fewer people in attendance for what was an interesting evening. With

probably over 50 images on show from camera clubs across the south west part of

England and as far away as Bristol and Southampton members were able to give

their views on a wide variety of images which also used a whole host of different

techniques. With photos having been created using all sorts of Photoshop filters and

techniques there was a lot for members to consider and discuss. Sunday saw

members attend the excellent Penmorvah Hotel in Budock Water for the club’s

annual “Christmas Dinner”. As usual a good time was had by all with great food and

chatter and the usual raffle to increase club funds. This week’s meeting has the

hand-in for our last formal internal competition of the 2019/2020 year and a

member’s evening lead by Derek Godridge. We look forward to that as Derek has

excellent stories to go with the fantastic images that he will be displaying.
