Great Night In or Out!

The new season at Penryn Camera Club is only a few weeks old and we’ve had

another first for the new club year – Thursday’s meeting saw our first practical

evening. Members arrived at the Space with their cameras and assorted gear they

were presented with two opportunities for the evening. With the weather not looking

great there was the option of staying in the hall and photographing a variety of items

using tripods and different light sources. For the more adventurous a brief trip out

was on offer with a visit to the docks of Falmouth to try nigh time photography. Both

groups had a great time experimenting with different techniques and sharing their

expertise. Those out at the docks thought that they had chosen the wrong option as

rain poured down. But after a brief wait the rain passed and some beautiful images

were achieved of the lights around the dry dock and over the main dock area

towards the harbour. Then both groups met up again at the Space for coffee, cake

and chat as we celebrated Keith’s birthday. For our new members it was another

great opportunity to get to know other club members.
